Fennin Ro, the Tyrant of Fire
For some of us, Fennin Ro was not just a god. It was the name of our server. Here is the god behind it.

The Tyrant of Fire
Fennin Ro rules the greater elemental Plane of Fire. He appears as a huge, barbaric male figure with a beard of searing flame, glowing red eyes, pointed ears and fangs. He is fanatical about preserving fire and has a very short temper with anyone who threatens it. By mortal standards he is called discordant evil, and he holds strong influence over the wheel of Order and Discord.

A family of Ros
The lore traces a family down through the planes: Fennin Ro is the father of Solusek Ro; Solusek Ro is the father of Druzzil Ro, goddess of magic; and Druzzil is the “mother” of Ayonae Ro, whom she raised to be demi-goddess of music. Fire, then sun, then magic, then music.

The elemental gods’ creation
An in-game book records that soon after the Nameless made the elder gods, while those gods placed their creations on Norrath, the elemental gods (Fennin Ro, Tarew Marr, the Rathe Council and Xegony) gathered to make a creation of their own. The official Planes of Power lore describes the four elemental gods making Quarm, the four-headed dragon that guards Zebuxoruk’s prison.

Doomfire
In Planes of Power his realm became Doomfire, the Burning Lands, one of the elemental planes every raid guild had to clear on the road to the Plane of Time. If you spent late nights there, you already know how he greets visitors.

Discordant evil, by mortal standards
The RPG Game Master’s Guide adds a judgment the older description leaves out: “By mortal standards, Fennin Ro’s destructive and tyrannical temperament aligns him as discordant evil,” while he keeps a strong influence on the wheel of Order and Discord.

Shaping the chaos
The official article From the Library of Norrath says the Nameless made a second god named Fennin Ro and “received the task of shaping the chaos.” Fennin drew his portion, named it Fire and set it in the stars to light the cosmos. He then helped the Rathe shape solid matter and “gave warmth to the cold of chaos.”

Fire against water
His followers and his enemies both appear in quests. In Timorous Deep, Omat Vastsea of the cleric epic says the Triumvirate missionaries “must defend the waters of Norrath from the ravages of the Tyrant of Fire, Fennin Ro.” The Game Master’s Guide names the Plasmatic Priesthood, “a cult worshipping the rage and flame of Fennin Ro,” which tried to break the sacred balance of fire and water in the history of the Water Sprinkler of Nem Ankh.
A son’s betrayal
Official Planes of Power lore says Solusek Ro allied with Rallos Zek and began to siphon power from his father’s Plane of Fire. In the Plane of Tranquility, Miak the Searedsoul says the portal to Doomfire “used to” lead to Fennin’s home, until Solusek Ro, unhappy with how many mortals were entering his father’s plane, sealed it. Miak adds: “I was starting to enjoy the sounds you mortals make when you fall into the lava.” In the Plane of Time script, Fennin is among the gods urging calm: “Calm yourselves, you need to appreciate the situation that is at hand.” See Solusek Ro.
