Morell-Thule, Lord of Dreams
Terris-Thule gave Norrath its nightmares. Her brother gives it everything else you see when you sleep.
King of Dreams
Morell-Thule rules the Demi-Plane of Dreams and gives sleep its colour and texture. He makes, animates and plainly enjoys the creatures that play in his realm. The official description and the 2002 roleplaying game agree on his look: nearly seven feet tall, a pure white centaur with a lion’s tail, young and handsome, with green eyes, a long white mane, and a horn on his brow made of light rather than bone, which makes his silver hooves glitter.

The forsaken son
The RPG calls him the outcast son of Cazic-Thule and the brother of Terris-Thule, Queen of Nightmares, whom he often opposes. Mithaniel Marr counts him as an ally. The in-game book “From Pond to Paladin” picks up the thread: Morell noticed Terris manipulating the dreams of a slumbering god, and moved against her. In the Library of Erudin’s summary of that book, the gift of life stolen from Mithaniel Marr ends up scattered across Norrath’s swamps, and the frogloks are born from it.

The House of Thule
In 2010 Morell finally became a place you could visit. House of Thule’s preview of Sanctum Somnium called it the heart of the Plane of Dreams, where he watches over everything in our subconscious. The expansion turned on that realm: adventurers walked into the nightmares of famous figures to learn what was wrong. One NPC, Twereus Ulithain, says he sacrificed a great deal to finally meet Morell-Thule, and was shocked by what he found.

Where the sources disagree
- Official previews spell the name both “Morell” and “Morrell.”
- The Plane of Sky’s official description says Veeshan is rumoured to sleep with her mind held safe in Morell-Thule’s realm of dreams. Nothing in Morell’s own lore that we found confirms it.
